Qualified Supervision for Florida Registered Mental Health Counselor Interns

Qualified Supervision (QS) Services

Are you a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern (RMHCI) in Florida looking for qualified supervision? Michelle White, MA, LMHC-QS offers 100% virtual individual and group supervision services to help you meet the Florida Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, and Mental Health Counseling requirements. As a board-approved Qualified Supervisor (License: MH12877), I am dedicated to providing supportive and insightful supervision to counselors (pursuing an LMHC) at all stages of their career development and I would love to be your supervisor.

What is Supervision?

In Florida, Registered Mental Health Counselor Interns (RMHCI) must complete a certain number of hours under the supervision of an experienced licensed professional with a qualified supervisor credential. Supervision ensures that you are gaining the necessary clinical experience, developing your therapeutic skills, and adhering to state regulations as you work toward becoming a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC).

As a Qualified Supervisor (QS), I’ll guide you in navigating your internship requirements and professional growth, helping you achieve the clinical competency needed to be the counselor you dream of being.

Supervision Approach

My clinical approach is person-centered, blending somatic (body-based) therapies, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational enhancement therapy (MET), and narrative therapy to address the unique needs of each client. My supervision style mirrors this approach and includes reflective supervision: I aim to challenge and support you to help you improve, while also offering education, resources, and insight to facilitate your professional growth.

During our sessions, you will receive:

  • Feedback and guidance to help you navigate clinical challenges

  • Reflection and empowerment to enhance your skills

  • Customized support that aligns with your career goals

  • Educational resources to meet state internship requirements

What We Focus On:

  • Clinical Depth: Moving from theory to practice with case conceptualization.

  • Clinical Excellence: Case conceptualization, ethics, HIPAA Compliance, documentation, and refining your therapeutic voice.

Requirements Met:

  • Form DH-MQA 1174 completion for the Florida Board.

  • Individual and group supervision options.

  • Electronic record-keeping for easy hour tracking.

Supervision Services

As a Florida Board-Approved Qualified Supervisor (LMHC), I provide remote clinical supervision for Registered Mental Health Counselor Interns (RMHCIs) who are ready to move beyond "checking boxes" and truly develop their clinical identity. I offer individual and group supervision options to suit your needs.

Are you working at an agency or private practice that doesn't provide a Board-Approved Qualified Supervisor? I provide Outside Supervision (also known as Contract Supervision or Off-Site Supervision) for Registered Mental Health Counselor Interns who obtain their clinical hours at an external site.

How it Works:

  • The Supervision Contract: We establish a formal agreement to ensure your clinical hours meet the Florida Board of CSW, MFT, and MHC standards.

  • Collaboration: I provide the clinical oversight and sign-off on your Form DH-MQA 1174, while you continue your daily work at your primary clinical site.

  • Individual Off-Site Supervision: Focused one-on-one guidance with personalized feedback and discussion.

  • Group Off-Site Supervision (coming soon): A collaborative space for interns to share experiences, learn from one another, and support one another in a collaborative environment.

  • 100% Virtual: We meet via HIPAA-compliant video, making it easy to fit into your schedule anywhere in Florida. (I will continue to monitor changes in the Florida Rules that may eventually require in-person hours.)
